Challenge
The main challenge was to provide users with the ability to control home devices from anywhere in the world without relying on an active internet connection. Traditional IoT solutions depend heavily on cloud connectivity, which introduces latency, costs, and risks of downtime. We needed to design a system that could operate independently of constant internet availability while still maintaining real-time control, reliability, and strong security protections.
Solution & Result
Our solution combined edge computing with secure local communication frameworks, allowing devices to interact directly with each other and respond instantly without an internet dependency. We implemented secure tunneling through mobile and local gateways, ensuring remote access remained safe and reliable. Logs and device activity were centrally captured for monitoring and insights.
